Oklahoma Premiere Cotillion 2011
The purpose of the National League of Junior Cotillions™ Premiere Cotillion Program is to give High School aged participants the opportunity to enjoy the social skills learned in Junior Cotillion and to continue to learn and practice ballroom dancing. Invitations to the Premiere Cotillion Program have been extended to former participants of Junior Cotillion and recommendations of their friends and associates.

An Evening of Dinner and Dance at Rose Creek, Thursday, January 20
Winter Dance at The Nigh University Center, Thursday, January 27

Winter Ball and Dinner at Gaillardia Country Club, Friday, February 25
The Icebreaker, Evening of Dinner Dance, Winter Dance, and Outing at the Civic Center are dressy. Ladies wear a dress or skirt, no dress pants please. Gentlemen wear blazer, dress slacks, shirt, tie and dress shoes.
The Winter Ball is white tie formal. Gentlemen wear formal wear with white tie, and ladies wear age-appropriate ball gowns.
STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
Members are required to conduct themselves at all times in accordance with the courtesies taught. The directors reserve the right to request the withdrawal of any lady or gentleman who fails to show progress in this area. At no time will the students be allowed to loiter around the facilities or in the restrooms.
Parents are encouraged to stress the importance of prompt arrival and departure for each event. Please plan accordingly for transportation and have your young person obtain a map or directions. Please allow for traffic and parking. All events will begin promptly at the scheduled time.
Membership dues are $365 and cover all costs of the events scheduled, including theatre tickets and meals. We highly recommend that you make your reservation early, as enrollment is limited and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. The class will be filled according to the date the tuition is received. Acceptance of this invitation and tuition payment must be received by December 1, 2010. Payment arrangements may be made by choosing the different ticket options for the choices above, for more details or other payment options please call 721-1467. In fairness to students who are placed on the waiting list, refunds will only be made in the case of extraordinary circumstances, such as moving or serious illness.

The mission of the Junior Cotillion is to teach students to treat others with honor, dignity and respect; to teach ballroom dance and the social courtesies that accompany it; and to instill in students a sense of self-confidence and poise in a group setting.
DETAILED EVENT DESCRIPTIONS
The Icebreaker at Rose Creek will allow students a first-hand look how etiquette plays a role in all of our relationships. This is an in-depth etiquette session covering first impressions, introductions and how important your personal presentation is in today's world. Light refreshments will be provided and dance instruction will follow. The event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.
An Evening of Dinner and Dance will be a night of dancing and dining. Instruction on eating difficult foods will be presented; spaghetti and chicken on the bone will be served. Fine dining etiquette will be taught to prepare for the Spring Ball and dinner. We will also be introduced to the world of business etiquette and college life, addressing some of the challenges that may arise in different situations. Dance instruction will follow. This event will be held at the Rose Creek. The Winter Dance will be from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Winter Dance will be structured much the same way as Junior Cotillion; however, new and advanced etiquette will be taught. First impressions and interview skills will be part of the curriculum. We will review dancing from years I and II of Junior Cotillion and add new dances, such as Latin Merengue and Salsa. The Valentine Dance will be held at the University of Central Oklahoma, in the Nigh University Center, from 7 to 9 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
The Outing at the Civic Center to see Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST*, the smash hit Broadway musical. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, this eye-popping spectacle has won the hearts of over 35 million people worldwide. This classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters, lavish sets and costumes, and dazzling production numbers including "Be Our Guest" and the beloved title song. Class will begin promptly at 6:15 p.m., the students will then participate in a formal reception, commencing at 7:00 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres and punch will be served, and the students will have an opportunity to manage a plate and glass while in a social setting. We will seat for the production at 7:45 p.m. Tickets will be distributed at the Reception. Please allow for traffic and parking and use the main entrance to the theatre. * Title subject to change
The Winter Ball and Dinner is a formal occasion, complete with a six-course instructional dinner. After the dinner, students will be presented a “bill” with which they will have to figure an appropriate tip and graciously handle any discrepancies, miscalculations, etc. with the waiter. The evening will take place at Gaillardia Country Club. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. The Ball will begin at 8 p.m. and conclude at 10:30 p.m.
