OIS J-1 Scholar Orientation
Scholar Orientation is required for all newly arrived J-1 Scholars at the University of Pittsburgh.

About this event
Due to COVID-19, Scholar Orientation is currently taking place remotely. You will receive an email Thursday afternoon before the Orientation with the information you will need to access the virtual meeting.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE ARRIVED IN PITTSBURGH. If you are currently outside of the United States, please reschedule once you have entered the U.S. for your program.
During this orientation you will complete the check-in process and learn about maintaining your immigration status. You will also learn about various resources within the University of Pittsburgh as well as the surrounding community that may be helpful to you. Scholar Orientation required for all newly arrived J-1 Scholars at the University of Pittsburgh and mandated by Department of State.
New J-1 Scholars should attend Scholar Orientation within two weeks of arrival in Pittsburgh and no later than 30 days from their program start date. Please be sure to complete your Pre-Arrival Checklist in My OIS before Orientation, so we can validate your SEVIS record after attending.
