Event description
Celebrate Ohio Poetry Day with the Ohio Poet of the Year and poetry readings by contest winners.

About this event

Again in 2021, OPA will be sponsoring this year’s Ohio Poetry Day (OPD) celebration. In light of the uncertainty during the recovery from the pandemic, our friends at Ohio Poetry Day Association have asked us to help celebrate this year’s Ohio Poet of the Year and the OPD contest winners. To that end, OPA will host a virtual reading on Zoom.

The afternoon kicks off with a reading by the Poet of the Year, Quartez Harris, who was chosen for his book, We Made It to School Alive (Twelve Arts Press, 2020). Harris will then be interviewed by OPA President Chuck Salmons. After a short break, OPD contest winners will be invited to read their winning poems.

This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. To purchase a copy of We Made It to School Alive, visit twelve-arts-press.myshopify.com.
