Ohio Health and Wellness Symposium

Join us for a day of learning! Whether you are an individual who wants more information about naturally supporting your body, or a health professional who would like more information on how to support your client naturally, this conference is for you! Professionals can earn 6 CEUs* for this conference.

General admission to attend live and in person is $65 and includes lunch** that is free from common allergens (gluten, dairy, soy, nut ) and refreshments (coffee, tea, water).

General admission to attend virtually is $50. Registrants will be emailed a Zoom link to attend the conference from the comfort of their own home.

Dr. Pam Popper - Keynote Speaker

Pam Popper is an internationally recognized expert on nutrition, medicine and health; and the founder and Executive Director of Wellness Forum Health. The company provides educational programs, extensive libraries of videos and articles, diet and lifestyle intervention, and assistance to consumers who are interested in regaining and/or maintaining optimal health. The company also offers professional development programs for health professionals who want to convert or start a practice focused on health instead of sick care. Through its own network of providers, Wellness Forum Health offers direct-to-consumer healthcare services. Pam has been featured in many widely distributed documentaries, including Processed People and Making a Killing and appeared in the acclaimed documentary Forks Over Knives, which played in major theaters throughout North America in 2011. She is one of the co-authors of the companion book which was on the New York Times bestseller list for 66 weeks. She is the author of Food Over Medicine: The Conversation That Can Save Your Life. Pam is a featured as the lead expert in Food Choices, appears in Diet Fiction, and also in Code Blue, which was released in early 2020. She is the author of the companion books for Food Choices and Diet Fiction. Her newest book is COVID Operation: What Happened, Why It Happened and What’s Next ,which she co-authored with Shane Prier. Pam is also a lobbyist and public policy expert, and continually works toward changing laws that interfere with patients’ right to choose their health provider and method of care. She has testified in front of legislative committees on numerous occasions, and has testified three times in front of the USDA’s Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. Pam is a straight-talking professional who is not afraid to criticize national health organizations, government agencies, medical professionals, pharmaceutical companies, agricultural organizations and manufacturing companies, many of whom have agendas and priorities that interfere with distributing truthful information and promoting public health. Dr. Elizabeth Laffay - Functional Medicine and Your Immune System

Dr. Laffay is a leader in the functional medicine movement. After graduating top of her class with a BS in Nutritional Sciences at Michigan State University, she went on to complete Osteopathic Medical School. She continued her training in Detroit, MI for Trauma and Emergency Medicine and has been practicing for close to twenty years. During her practice, she felt there was a disconnect with humanity that was pervasive in western medicine and sought out Functional Medicine through the Cleveland Clinic Institute. She now co-owns Elite Wellness Group, LLC in downtown Sandusky, OH where she is helping people feel their best by addressing root cause of disease and cultivating sincere relationships with her patients. Currently, she tends to patients at Elite Wellness Group, located in Sandusky, Ohio, where patients from nearly all 50 states and many countries have gotten well and reached their health potential.

Dr. Bridget Williams - Myths of Cannabis & CBD Oil

Dr. Bridget Williams is the owner of Green Harvest Health, a medical cannabis clinic located near Columbus, OH. Green Harvest Health is the only medical cannabis clinic and life and wellness coaching practice in Ohio. Dr. Williams brings nearly 20 years of experience in family medicine from Cleveland Clinic and certifications in life and cannabis coaching to her practice. Dr. Bridget provides valuable talks on medical cannabis, CBD, life balance and confidence. In 2019, Dr Bridget branched out into developing her own line of CBD products as well as product development for other businesses. When not seeing patients, Dr. Bridget hosts a CBD education series, and holistic wellness series and teaches at the Cleveland School of Cannabis. Dr. Williams is honored to be a Women in Medicine Top Doctors for 2021.

Dr. Patti McCormick - Integrating Clinical Aromatherapy Safely - In Your Life & Profession

Dr. McCormick, Founder and President of Institute of Holistic Leadership (IHL), has been involved with education and holistic practices since 1978. IHL is accredited holistic educational facility offering certification programs in various holistic health modalities. Through her expertise in curriculum development, graduates of several of IHL's programs are required to complete a clinical rotation in a traditional medical setting, developing holistic care plans and offering services to the patients. Dr. McCormick is known on a national level for her ability to empower people to be the “head coach” of their own team. Dr. McCormick's core philosophy is to meet the client's model of the world and help them create a personal wellness plan she/he can live with. Dr. McCormick, an expert in the field of holistic lifestyles, presents seminars to a variety of individuals, from medical professionals and educators, to corporations and to the consumers of holistic care. She brings her expertise to assist in the integration of holistic models of health into settings such as corporate wellness, educational settings, healthcare and more. Her mission is to have a Holistic Health clinic on every corner and Holistic Professionals in every medical setting to assist Patients in Healing!

Dr. Donna Poppendieck - Nutrition for Mental Health

Dr. Donna Poppendieck, more commonly known in the college classroom as Dr. P, has been involved in the addiction treatment and prevention community for the past 22 years and has been teaching mental health in universities for about 15 years. She holds a licensure in chemical dependency treatment as well as certification in the prevention field in the state of Ohio. Additionally, she completed a doctorate in educational psychology with Capella University, and completed a program in health and wellness coaching with Maryland University of Integrative Health. In addition to being invited to speak at various professional conferences, she is founder and director of Health and Wellness Online, an online learning academy, which grants continuing education hours to several prominent professional boards nationally and in Ohio. She writes largely about holistic mental health. Having grown up in a family with drug abuse, and having successfully healed herself from autoimmune disease, she is always interested in exploring legitimate, evidence-based pathways to full and complete health and recovery - in thoughts, feelings, body, and spirit for all interested people.

Lucy Mills , BS, BCPP, HHP - Intro to Energy & Energy Medicine

Lucy is the Director of Global Academy for Energetic Education, teaches Polarity Reflexology (PR) and Detox & Health Building, and supervises all online curriculum and classes. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Counseling with Liberty University, Lucy wanted to pursue an education that would integrate healing processes for the mind, body, soul, and spirit. After discovering Energy Medicine and the many options available to naturally promote health and well-being through various energetic modalities, she completed the necessary training for the designations of Holistic Health Practitioner (HHP) and Board Certified Polarity Practitioner (BCPP). In 2019, Lucy completed the necessary training through the American Polarity Therapy Association (APTA) to achieve the designations of Approved Training Manager (ATM), and Registered Polarity Educator (RPE). Lucy has been practicing Energy Medicine since 2013 and continues to expand her knowledge in the Theory and Science of Energy in order to educate students and clients on how to keep their energy free flowing which in turn promotes health and well-being. Coupled with her many years of Administrative and Leadership experience, being the Director of Global Academy for Energetic Education is the perfect fusion of organizational education while still remaining hands-on and experiential.

Dr. Natalie Candela - Hypnosis and Healing

Natalie Candela is a certified hypnotherapist and a transformation coach, helping people transform into their fuller, happier, more authentic selves. In addition to hypnosis, Natalie’s professional training includes sociology and education, and she had a long career as a teacher, lecturer, trainer, success coach, and advisor. In 2016, she was guided to re-align herself to a new, more authentic path, and she began to work one-on-one with individuals that need support and guidance through their own life transitions. Natalie has been on the path of spiritual awakening for 30 years and is deeply honored to serve as a guide to the individuals awakening to the greater reality and their personal potential, inner wisdom, and clarity. Natalie’s areas of expertise include self-esteem, trauma (personal and generational), stress, anxiety, and life’s purpose and direction. Natalie uses hypnosis, past-life regression, dream interpretation, handwriting analysis, meditation, heart-brain coherence, EFT, and other techniques to help clients to get to know themselves, find a fulfilling life path, and become conscious creators of their lives. Natalie works with clients online and in her home office in Columbus, OH (Reynoldsburg).

Michelle Cotterman, RN - The Stress Effect: Finding Balance Through Intentional Living

Michelle Cotterman is a Registered Nurse in practice for over a decade. She is also a graduate from the Trinity School of Natural Health, as a Certified Natural Health Professional. Michelle currently has her own health and wellness consulting practice where she guides people on how to achieve optimum wellness and to thrive using the principles of traditional naturopathy. Michelle is also an avid supporter of medical autonomy, informed consent, parental rights, and health freedom and actively works with the Ohio State Legislature by providing education on these topics and expert scientific testimony on health related bills. She has also been invited to speak at various conferences, as a guest on syndicated radio programs, and consult with religious leaders to discuss important health matters. Michelle has served as the President of Ohio Advocates for Medical Freedom, a vaccine safety and informed consent advocacy group in Ohio. She is co-founder and served as President of Health Freedom Ohio, a group dedicated to raising awareness about complementary and alternative pathways to health and wellness and preserving the fundamental human right to health freedom in the state of Ohio. Her continuing education focuses on alternative medicine including healing touch, herbalism, and homeopathy with a passion for raising awareness about these modalities in the community. She is also the mother of two beautiful, healthy, and naturally raised children. Michelle is an avid proponent of regenerative agriculture and in her spare time she enjoys tending to a diverse home medicinal garden and a backyard flock of chickens.
