OHC25: Mount Studio [Workshop]
Overview
Founded in 2022, Mount Studio is a Colombo-based artist-run space. A designated place for artists, learners, and makers, the Studio first emerged as a hub for photography, printmaking, and collaboration. Today, it has grown into a creative studio and analogue film lab, supporting both experimental and documentary practices.
Mount Studio also houses the Batticaloa Photo-History Archive and various education initiatives, exhibitions, archiving projects, and commissioned work led by artist and founder Lojithan Ram. The Studio serves as a place of connection and artistic experimentation, bringing together people, images, stories, and processes.
Workshop participants will have the opportunity to create a personal archive using analogue film and other media to document the past and present for the future. The session will focus on recent archiving projects at Mount Studio, drawing examples from the Batticaloa Photo-History Archive. The workshop is open to all ages, and no prior skills or knowledge are required. All materials will be provided.
