Ogden Trauma Awareness Seminar (Morning)
Over the past year DWS has been enhancing the services we provide to our customers through taking a more family centered work focused approach to case management. As part of this process we are working to become a more trauma informed organization, in part, by conducting Trauma Awareness Seminars for all DWS employees. Because we believe this information is so important, we are opening these seminars to our community partners and others who might find this information helpful.
The Trauma Awareness Seminar (4 hours) is designed as a basic introduction to the area of trauma. It is designed for anyone who encounters individuals and families who may have experienced trauma, whether in the front lobby of an agency, while delivering home services or even passing people on the street.
At the end of this seminar you will be able to better answer questions such as:
What is Trauma?
What is the impact of trauma and how do I recognize possible trauma responses?
How can I be more effective in working with people with a trauma history?
How can I care for myself as I work with people who have experienced trauma?
Come ready to learn, be challenged, and possibly even discover something about yourself!
