Offshore wind - A Multi-Million Dollar Opportunity for Massachusetts Businesses

With the first offshore wind blades in the U.S. now spinning off Block Island, a landmark energy bill passed by the Massachusetts Legislature and signed by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker last summer requiring 1,600 megawatts of offshore wind and three offshore wind developers competing to build the first commercial-scale projects in the country, a new Massachusetts industry is emerging. The construction and installation of offshore wind turbines requires equipment, supplies, and services. This event provides offshore wind developers a forum to connect with local businesses that supply these goods and services.

Who should attend?

Businesses with expertise in electrical services, civil engineering, heavy lift cranes, marine services including vessels and tugs, welding supplies, concrete, diving and underwater construction, environmental studies, steel fabrication and suppliers, ocean soil testing and more will have an opportunity to meet with offshore wind industry representatives.

Why should you attend?

  • Find your fit. Understand the broad range of materials, equipment, and services that offshore wind developers, turbine manufacturers, and major suppliers will require.
  • Learn who is buying what. Understand the procurement process in these large, multi-year construction projects. Meet the companies and learn about what they will source locally.
  • Get listed in the Massachusetts Offshore Wind Supply Chain Directory, an online listing of Massachusetts companies interested in supplying the offshore wind industry. If you cannot attend the event, sign up here to get listed in the directory (otherwise will be added to the directory via registration).
  • Get connected to today’s offshore wind industry leaders.
  • Introduce your company. Reserve a time slot to meet one-on-one with offshore wind developers, wind turbine original equipment manufacturers, and major component and system suppliers.
