Join Us for Mayflower's Launch & Christening!

About this Event

Following a three-year restoration at Mystic Seaport Museum’s Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard, Plimoth Plantation, along with the restoration crew, is proud to present Mayflower's official launch ceremony. An engaging program of speakers and entertainment will set the stage for the christening before the ship is lowered into the Mystic River for the first time since her restoration began in November 2016! In the weeks following the launch, the remaining stages of the restoration will be completed. Please note that the ship will depart Mystic in spring 2020.

Please note Mystic Seaport Museum will be open on September 7, 2019 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The launch ceremony will begin promptly at 2 p.m. The seating area will open at 1 p.m. and we encourage you to be in the shipyard by 1:45 p.m.

More detailed information will be sent to you in the week prior to the event.
