Event description
Give your business the tools and resources it needs to bid in government contracts and be procured by the federal government.

About this event

The Federal Government needs to make purchases just like any other organization. This includes equipment, food, and niche products/resources. Mary Hedrick with The Regional Contracting Assistance Center (RCAC PTAC) will help give your business the tools and resources it needs to bid in government contracts and be procured by the federal government.

This is a perfect workshop for owners, managers, and/or employees. Anyone is welcome to attend as long as they register via Eventbrite.

In this power-hour workshop you will:

  • Learn how your small business can enter the federal marketplace
  • Identify your firm’s preparedness
  • Discover how to get registered in SAM
  • Hear about finding federal opportunities + tools for in-depth market research

Who should take this class?

  • Business owners or employees that desire to learn how to expand their operations by government contracting
  • If you are curious if the products/services you offer could be contracted by the federal government
  • If you don’t know where to start when it comes to government contracting

What is a "hybrid" course? There will be 10 in-person tickets & 10 virtual tickets only. There will be a waitlist for in-person tickets. If you decide to join in person, face masks will be required and social distancing will be enforced. In-person attendees will also be required to fill out a COVID-19 visitor form for contact tracing.

Organizer Bluefield WV Economic Development Authority

Organizer of Office Hours: Government Contracting 101

The City of Bluefield's Board of Directors decided to take their destiny into their own hands and formed the Community & Economic Development Department (CED) on April 17, 2015. The CED was created to take an aggressive approach to economic and community development for the City. In 2019, the city received a grant to form the Bluefield Economic & Development Authority (BEDA) under the Blueprint Community Initiative. The CED and BEDA have taken a three-prong approach to economic growth in the City and the region:

  • To support existing business and industry to help them diversify and grow. This is done through a Business Retention & Expansion Program.
  • Cultivate entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • To attract new industry, especially in the “TEAM” sectors. TEAM stands for Technology, Energy, and Advanced Manufacturing.
