Description

What: Training and Free Materials for STEM Connect program teachers/ Oregon Title I School teachers! Limit of 30 teachers. Sign-up early! Registration closes Friday, January 26, 2018.

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is offering at no cost the RIDES (Roadways Into Developing Elementary Students) program that is an AASHTO/Mississippi education outreach program designed to interest K-8 students in transportation careers while improving their math and science skills. Students utilize critical thinking skills to solve real world problems and learn about careers in the transportation industry especially civil engineering. The curriculum is aligned with the National Standards for Math and Science.

When: Monday, March 12th and Tuesday, March 13th from 8am-5pm *** Note - when registering you will be registering for both days.

Teachers attend two days of high energy training conducted by National Board Certified Teachers. This module contains a curriculum as well as a large trunk of resources for the teacher to use in the classroom to conduct the activities. A SUV, van or truck is suggested for transporting your tub. Teachers can earn 16 hours of training time to apply to their certification.
