Description

We invite you to join The Silver Unicorn Bookstore and three local authors for an unique celebration of food and fiction at Orange Door Kitchen. Novelists Jenna Blum, Crystal King and Louise Miller will sit down with guests for a delicious meal inspired by their recently published works and then linger over coffee for book signing and more conversation.

MENU:

ONE // The Lost Family // Peter Rashkin’s mushroom soup with crème fraîche and brandy

TWO // Feast of Sorrow // Apicius’ chicken in dill sauce with romanesco, pine nuts, golden raisins, and colatura

THREE // The Late Bloomer’s Club // burnt sugar cake with maple icing

Tickets include a copy of each author’s novel plus a three-course meal prepared by Orange Door Kitchen. Beverages are available for purchase.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS:

Jenna Blum is the New York Times and number one international bestselling author of the novels Those Who Save Us and The Stormchasers. She was also voted one of the favorite contemporary women writers by Oprah.com readers. Jenna is based in Boston, where she earned her MA from Boston University and has taught fiction and novel workshops for Grub Street Writers for twenty years.

Crystal King is a writer, culinary enthusiast, and marketing expert. Her writing is fueled by a love of history and an obsession with the food, language, and culture of Italy. Her debut novel, Feast of Sorrow, was published in April 2017 and her second novel, The Secret Chef, will be released in early 2019. She has taught writing and social media at Grub Street and several universities including Harvard Extension School and Boston University. Crystal received her master's degree in critical and creative thinking from University of Massachusetts Boston. She lives in the US with her husband and two cats, Nero and Merlin.

Louise Miller is a writer and pastry chef living in Boston, MA. Her debut novel, The City Baker's Guide to Country Living, was selected as an Indie Next pick by the American Booksellers Association, a Library Reads pick by Librarians across the U.S., and was shortlisted by the America Library Association’s Reading List Council for best women’s fiction in 2017. Her 2nd novel, The Late Bloomer's Club, was published in July 2018. In addition to baking and writing, Louise is an art school dropout, an amateur flower gardener, an old-time banjo player, an obsessive moviegoer, and a champion of old dogs.
