Description

PEDAL FOR PEACE: One Common Unity is Proud to Present the Third Annual Peace Ride

The Peace Ride is a day long community event hosted by One Common Unity (OCU), a Washington D.C. based non-profit whose mission is to break cycles of violence and build compassionate, healthy communities through the transformative power of music, arts, and peace education.

The Peace Ride brings together members of the community who are committed to ending violence and building a better future. This is an opportunity to enjoy a beautiful cycling route (you can also run or walk the route), participate in yoga classes, plus wellness and interactive art workshops. In addition, there will be live music + poetry performances at Base Camp, led by OCU students and special guests.

The Peace Ride is a day of sun, fun, and connection - we can’t wait for you to join us!

Please join us to support OCU’s violence prevention programs in DC public schools - all proceeds from this FUNdriaser support OCU’s ongoing programming.

One Common Unity leads arts-driven violence prevention programs in 15 DC public schools. Our flagship youth development program, Fly By Light, immerses roughly 5,000 DC middle and high school students each year in a transformative process centered upon social emotional learning, mindfulness, social justice education, nature immersion, and artistic expression.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The day's events will be centered at a Base Camp, overlooking the Lincoln Memorial. Along the way, cyclist can enjoy various rest stops, restaurants, and scenic outlooks. *For those who don’t wish to complete the 19-mile route, there is a shorter 6-mile route by the Potomac, and a walking "Peace Tour" on the mall are also available.
