Description

This month’s TOD Transit-Oriented Dinner will take us down to the Joliet Metra stop to check out the new MyGrain brewery at the Old Joliet Union Station. UPPSA is partnering with the Joliet Planning Department and RTA for a special presentation before the dinner. The Director of Planning from Joliet, Kendall Jackson with talk about redevelopment efforts around Joliet Union Station, including but not limited to the new station project and an RTA staffer will give a at tour an interagency planning project in Joliet.

Details: We will depart for Joliet from Union Station at 2:45 via the Heritage Corridor Metra train line and arrive at approximately 3:50. The tour with RTA will be first and then we will move to MyGrain where Kendall Jackson will speak while we enjoy some free appetizers from UPPSA. If you can’t make it at 2:45 feel free to take a later train down to Joliet (check the Rock Island or Heritage Corridor schedules for frequesnt service) and meet us. We will have dinner and make our way back to the city via Metra (departing at 6:15, 7:10, and 9:30) or Amtrak (departing at 7:51 and 10:27).

Travel expenses: A round-trip ticket to Joliet costs $16 on the Metra.
