Event description
Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency Speakers: Nicola Hedge, Deputy Director Alex Yee, Coastal and Water Program Manager

About this event

Topic: Changing Transportation, Changing Climate

The pace of change and innovation is heating up the transportation sector, with increasing focus on multi-modal transportation, complete streets, electric vehicles and new mobility options. Our existing transportation network is also being stress-tested by challenges such as congestion, climate change, sea level rise and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on residents’ and tourists’ travel patterns. The Office of Climate Change, Sustainability and Resiliency will share the latest about transportation-related actions in the newly-adopted Oʻahu Climate Action Plan (CAP) as well as plans underway to build resiliency of our communities and infrastructure to the local impacts of climate change, as they relate to the transportation sector.

Registration: Free (members)/$10 (non-members)

Please register based on your current ITE International membership status.

As Coastal Program Manager, Alex is excited to help advance Climate Ready Oʻahu, the City’s first climate adaptation strategy to address sea level rise, extreme heat, and other climate impacts. An active member of the American Planning Association, Alex is passionate about supporting a more diverse and representative generation of planners in the profession.
