Early Experiences Which Undermine Breastfeeding Confidence: Supporting the Breastfeeding Journey

featuring Dr. Jane Heinig, PhD, IBCLC, UC Davis ,Department of Nutrition: Human Lactation Center

Objectives:

Describe 3 early experiences that may undermine breastfeeding confidence

Describe the reasons for these experiences

Describe 3 ways to address emotional regulation in new parents

Dr. Jane Heinig is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant on the faculty at UC Davis, in both the Departments of Nutrition and Public Health Sciences, where she conducts research in the areas of public health nutrition, maternal and child nutrition, and infant behavior. She received her PhD in Nutrition Science from UC Davis and has been an IBCLC for nearly 30 years. Dr. Heinig is the Executive Director of the UC Davis Human Lactation Center, and Graduate Advisor for the Masters Degree Program in Maternal and Child Nutrition at UC Davis.

We have seen our coalition only strengthen during this time. Thank you for pouring into our families in our community but also yourself and each other.

Each Participant will reveive a link after the webinar to an evaluation and 1.5 CEUs/BRNs form.

IEBFC began as a group of concerned health care professionals and community members who came together to raise awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and to raise collaborative efforts among health care agencies. 

We have General Education meetings once a month that provide CERPs and BRN CEUs which are FREE to members and affordably priced to non-members.
