Event description

Description

Join us for our fall community gathering on October 11th, 7-9pm, to connect with and learn from the leaders of our partner organizations. We will hear what they are seeing, dreaming, and struggling with on the ground as they build power within the communities they serve.

Come grab a drink, nab some of the prints made in honor of the visions of our grassroots organizations, and meet other agitators and inquirers. Community organizers from three of Blue Heart’s partner organizations - Peacock Rebellion, Youth United for Community Action, & POOR Magazine - will speak about their strategies and challenges in effective movement-building in the Bay Area and beyond.

We are all thirsty for stories of creative transformation; this is home base.

This event is FREE for Blue Heart members!

About Blue Heart:

Blue Heart funds grassroots organizations building the political power of low-income communities and communities of color. In turn, we help develop and inspire an ethic of philanthropy in young folks seeking to engage with social and environmental justice issues.

Every month, we feature a different community-led, grassroots organization in the Bay Area and nationally. We send our members stories from frontline movement builders, political education to understand the context and history of their movements, and a set of action opportunities to engage further. Our members make recurring monthly donations, the majority of which goes directly to our grassroots partner organizations. A portion goes to our Creator's Fund, which makes small annual grants to support these organizations in communicating their revolutionary visions through collaborative projects with artists. Join our community!
