Summary:

On December 22, 2017, President Trump signed into law the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (“TCJA”). The TCJA created some significant new tax laws and changed many existing ones. Such additions and changes affect virtually all taxpayers.

We will touch on several of the more significant additions/changes to the law, such as the qualified business income deduction (commonly known as the “pass-through entity deduction”), Qualified Opportunity Zones, and the TCJA’s effects on individual taxpayers. We will also review updates and clarifications provided by recently released Treasury Regulations.
