Title: SCOOP & STACK deep dive: activity, outlook and its place at the national level

Abstract

SCOOP, STACK and MERGE plays have seen significant increase in oil & gas development in recent years. With application of modern high-density horizontal completions, promising well results have been achieved across multiple landing zones (Woodford, Osage, Meramec). Activity has already entered into the development stage in several parts of the basin pushing Oklahoma oil production above 500,000 barrels per day (all-time high level). In this presentation, we will look into the latest well design, productivity and well economics trends in SCOOP/STACK in the context of other major U.S. liquid and resource plays. Further, we will address proppant market, pressure pumping and takeaway capacity situation to evaluate the challenges which SCOOP & STACK operators face these days. Finally, we will highlight the shifts in well spacing patterns and look into specific case examples to understand down-spacing results. Some market participants tend to share the opinion that SCOOP & STACK is a rounding error when nationwide oil production growth is considered. We will illustrate that there are several factors which challenge such statements.
