Event description

Description

UPDATE: Himagiri Sarma, Program Director of Family Rescue and Assistant State's Attorney Lashunda Cooperwood will be presenting DV risk assessments and how they can be used not only as screening tools but also as conversation starters with students that are at risk for domestic violence. As collaborators on a multi-disciplinary team for domestic violence response, they frequently use these assessments for both the intervention and prevention of violence.

As suggested in our last meeting, we will also use a portion of our Open Forum to exchange resources. We encourage all of those attending to bring some type of resource they have found helpful in their roles. This can pertain to investigations, response, prevention education, student engagement, etc. If you are unable to attend but would still like to share a resource, feel free to send them to me and I can share with the group. I am also more than happy to print handouts ahead of time if needed. (natalie.busath@cookcountyil.gov)

We will of course spend the rest of the time discussing other recent developments and pressing concerns, such as Betsy Devos's intended rollbacks on the 2011 DCL.
