Due to the government shutdown as of September 30th, the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) is on furlough and NEA Arts Education Program Director, Ayanna Hudson, our originally scheduled guest speaker, will unfortunately need to postpone her visit to Newark until this federal issue is resolved. http://arts.gov/sites/default/files/NEA-Agency-Operations-in-the-Absence-of-Appropriations.pdf
We hope that you will join us on October 10th at Newark Museum (10:00-12:00 p.m.) with a modified program as we have a full agenda. At this meeting, we will meet the newly appointed and elected members of the Newark Arts Education Leadership Council (NAELC), hear about updates on progress made with new arts education initiatives in Newark Public Schools, gain feedback from the Roundtable regarding priorities for the upcoming year and discuss committee work of the NAER, (Advocacy, Evaluation, Professional Development and Communications) moving forward.
Please contact Paula Jacobs via email at email@example.com by Friday, October 4th if you will not be able to attend. Otherwise, your attendance has been confirmed via your previous eventbrite registration.
We look forward to greeting you personally on October 10th at Newark Museum!
