The OCCBD Summer '23 Confernce is a time for educators, related service providers, paraprofessional, student teachers, and any others who work with students presenting challenging behaviors to come together.
The day's agenda includes dynamic sessions by Dr. Mildred Boveda on understanding intersectional vulnerability - the cost and benefits of educating marginalized students; Dr. Elaine Harper on trauma informed insights; Beverly Johns on fun and engaging academic activities to reduce behavior problems; Dr. Cynthia Frye on barriers twice exceptional students encounter and inclusive practices; and Dr. Alana Kennedy on trauma, relationships, and compassion - applied insights from general and special educators.
Lunch, snacks, and door prizes are provided! Certificate of attendance for 6 hours of professional development will be available at the conclusion of the event.
