Event description

Description

Women's health issues are a common category of main complaint, but often very tricky to diagnose and treat. Menstrual, menopausal, bone density, and fertiliy issues are most common, but even something seemingly structural like neck pain can have hormonal roots. Hormonal imbalances leading to infertility may have structural origins. Being able to recognize and treat these symptoms means having a deep understanding of their root causes, and using a clear diagnostic method to confirm and receive immediate patient feedback.

In this one day workshop, Kiiko Matsumoto will discuss a wide variety of women's health concerns, including endometriosis, irregular periods, infertility, low bone density, hot flashes, and hormonally related migraines, IBS, and acne. She will demonstrate palpation of significant areas of the abdomen for diagnostic differentiation, as well as distal areas that play a large role in hormonal balance. Learn simple and effective treatments for a wide variety of symptoms, what to be on the look for when forming diagnoses, and how palpation can provide you with feedback when the particular symptoms themselves may take several treatments to change. Surgical scars and diode ring adjunct treatments will also be covered.

FAQs

Is this class for beginners or more advanced practitoners?

We recommend this class for those with some background in Kiiko style acupuncture, although practitioners of all levels of background are welcome to attend.

Do I need to be a licensed acupuncturist to attend this class?

This class is open to licensed acupuncturists, third year acupuncture students, and medical doctors. Please specify your credentials/license number during registration or email us directly.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Kiiko's office is accessible via the Green Line D train (Newton Highlands stop), bus (59) and car. On Sunday there is unlimited street parking. For Saturday, parking on Walnut street is 2 hours only. For those who do not wish to have to move their car, we will send out recommended alternative parking options closer to the event.

What can I bring into the event?

We will provide tea, coffee, and light refreshments. There will be a one hour break for lunch- you may bring your own or we will make recommendations for where to go within short walking distance.

What's the refund policy?

Tickets are fully refundable up until the end of the day March 2nd. After March 2nd, we will not be able to refund your ticket, but you may transfer your ticket to another participant, just let us know that there has been a change. Because the purchase of your ticket reserves a space in the class, we cannot transfer your ticket to a future class.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, but we will be taking attendance at the door and you must have registered ahead of time to be able to attend the class.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes but please do so by March 1st so we can prepare the correct certificate for you.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, but please let us know so we prepare the correct certificate.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes, but please let us know so we prepare the correct certificate.

Is there a difference between the Saturday and Sunday class?

No. These will be exactly the same. We have a limited amount of space, and chose to offer the class twice in order to accomidate more people.

I'm registered for the Sunday class but I would rather attend on Saturday (or vice versa)

Once you are registered for the class, so long as there is room on the second date we can transfer your ticket. Please email us directly. You may also cancel your registration and re-register for your preferred class via Eventbrite. If the class on the day you would prefer to attend is sold out, we won't be able to squeeze you in. For this reason, we recommend that you figure out the better day for you before February 15th.
