Join us in celebrating author F. Scott Fitzgerald on the anniversary of his death by visiting his former final resting place and his current one.
On December 21st, 1940, the 44-year-old F. Scott Fitzgerald died tragically and was buried 3000 miles away in Maryland's Rockville Cemetery. However, that's not where he remained.
In memory of Fitzgerald's death 76 years ago, join Atlas Obscura Society DC & Peerless Rockville for a winter afternoon exploring why this internationally-renowned writer is buried in the DC-area.
We will pay a visit to Rockville Cemetery to see the gravesite where he and his equally famous wife Zelda first spent their post mortem years. Then, we will be bused over to nearby St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery to see the couple's current final resting place for a short vigil.
