Description
Afro Yoga by Angie collaborates with the Prickly Pear for a very unique, intimate yoga experience beginning in May. At this beautiful urban desert oasis located right by Southside Park, where the original Afro Yoga classes started in the park, monthly love donation yoga classes will be held each Saturday.
Angie will be teaching one Saturday per month, beginning May 18th! Angie is the founder of Afro Yoga in Sacramento and her work has been centered on creating access to wellness in unique spaces that are inclusive, diverse and representative. When Mona, the owner of The Prickly Pear reached out to her to teach, she was honored to teach in a space that aligns with her mission and is working to create change in Sacramento.
Her teaching style is reflective of community, where the student comes first and is guided to experience themselves through movement and breath — with music they connect to and can vibe with.
We hope to see you there! Afro Yoga events sell out very quickly, so get your ticket with a love donation of your choice and get ready to experience the bliss of Oasis Yoga at the Prickly Pear.
All ages, genders, races, preferences, beliefs, sizes, abilities welcome!

FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Children are welcome to attend so long as they are not a big distraction to the group. We encourage our young ones to start practicing yoga and meditation so please bring them along!
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Streetside parking is available.
What can I bring into the event?
Please bring your own mat and water bottle. A small towel may be good for sweat and to cover your eyes from the sun towards the end of the practice when we are in restful poses.
Is this class okay for beginners or people with recovering injuries?
This class is perfect for beginners. Angie will guide you step by step through each pose and give you time to experience each one. The poses will stream together in a sequence and become challenging but very doable! Modifications will be available also.
If you have an injury you are recovering from, it's up to you to know your limits! Yoga can be very restorative and healing for the body but ultimately, you have to make the call by deciding what your body's boundaries are.
