Event description

Description

Now 33, Kim Jong Un is the world’s youngest head of state, becoming the supreme leader at age 26 when his father died. His regime has developed its nuclear weapons program. Rocket tests are threatening neighboring countries, and President Trump has made it clear that he is willing to use military force. Neither side appears interested in backing down or settling the conflict. Is the threat of war between North Korea and the U.S. a real possibility? Join University of Chicago Professor John Mearsheimer, Ph.D., as he explores the relationship between the U.S. and North Korea.

The Speaker

John Mearsheimer, Ph.D., is a leading expert on international relations and a professor at the University of Chicago. A West Point graduate who became a U.S. Air Force officer, he later earned his Ph.D. from Cornell University.
