For the 12th consecutive year, NYU will commemorate Dr. King’s visit and his legacy by hosting a week-long schedule of special events. The theme for this year’s NYU Martin Luther King, Jr. Week is, Essence of a True Revolution.
The highlight of the week will be the NYU MLK Week University-Wide Event on Thursday, February 9th. The event will feature Rosie Perez, community activist, actor, author, dancer, and choreographer; Janet Mock, writer, TV host and advocate; and Wade Davis, former NFL player, public speaker, educator and actor; in conversation with Pamela Newkirk, journalist, scholar, and professor at NYU. With performances by Amy León, NYU Alum and Patience Carter, NYU Student.
