NYS Mandatory Sexual Harassment Prevention and Response Training

Small business owners: did you know that all companies in NY with a least one employee must have a sexual harassment policy? And that all employees must attend an interactive training on that policy by October 9, 2019?

Did we give you a panic attack? If your business need a policy, the State of New York has compiled helpful material, including a model policy, here: https://www.ny.gov/combating-sexual-harassment-workplace/employers.

But what about the "interactive" training? This important but unfunded mandate has hit a lot of small companies (those with under 15 employees) hard. So Ignite Buffalo is setting up free trainings to help small businesses meet the requirements!

Only one session is required, but all employees must attend. These sessions are limited to businesses with teams of 15 or less. To ensure sessions are interactive, we're limiting attendance to 30 and leaders should should send your company's sexual harassment policy to sara@losapllc.com in advance.
