NYFA Online Learning: Digital Marketing: How To Stay Authentic, Efficient, And Effective

About this Event

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) is pleased to announce its next online workshop, part of an Online Learning Initiative that provides professional development workshops to artists and creatives nationally and internationally through a webinar platform. The third Fall workshop is “Digital Marketing: How To Stay Authentic, Efficient, And Effective,” presented by Reynaldi Lindner Lolong, Associate Director of Digital Engagement for The Public Theater in New York City. It will take place online on Tuesday, November 19, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM EST.

Workshop Description:

From email to social media to websites, digital communications are part of our way of life, and are an essential part of any arts marketer’s toolkit. But how can we leverage these tools to communicate an artistic product and also create meaningful connections with our audiences? And in an ever-changing media landscape, how do you know what approach is right for you?

Aimed at individual artists or arts administrators just wanting to get the pulse of the digital landscape, this workshop will look at two contrasting examples of how traditional marketing plans ladder up into digital strategy. We’ll also look at some best practices across different social platforms, as well as tips and tricks for measuring success.

This workshop will take you through the steps of creating a digital marketing strategy that’s right for you:

  • Getting started: we’ll begin with a brainstorm to explore messaging, brand, and audience. This will give us the baseline of our marketing plan, but also help us consider and challenge some of our own biases.
  • Planning for platforms: next, we’ll look at some of the popular digital platforms and social media, and assess their pros and cons based on our brainstorm.
  • Creating content: what content is right for what platform? We’ll look at how a few small ideas can go along way – great if you’re on a budget or short on time!
  • Analytics: You can’t manage what you can’t measure, so we’ll talk about establishing KPIs (key performance indicators) and how to know what’s working.
  • Next Steps: We’ll look at a couple case studies of how to fine tune your efforts and improve for the future.
