Description

Learn how NYC government transforms in response to disaster, what this means for your nonprofit, and about HSC’s disaster coordination efforts

As has been demonstrated following 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy, and this year's series of catastrophic Hurricanes, it is clear that effective response and recovery calls for city governments to coordinate with local networks of human services organizations to bring relief and support to affected communities.

At this training, City government will share its approach to public health emergencies to help human services professionals better understand changes to their command structure post-disaster and HSC will also share its sector coordination plans and principles. These discussions will serve as a springboard for continued joint planning between City government and the human services sector.
