Our December 2016 meetup will be a special workshop from 6:30-8pm for filmmakers to write about your work led by Amy Guggenheim, “Intrinsic Value” Consultant -- Suggested donation of $5-10
**To participate in the writing workshop, please submit one paragraph (rough draft preferred!) to Amy about the film project you are currently working on to use in the group session by Thursday Dec 8th in addition to your RSVP on Eventbrite** Observers welcomed.
"This workshop is designed for filmmakers who need to who need to write about their work. The intrinsic value of your work is your vision. The work of writing for the film industry is to clarify and represent what’s at the core of your work to define its unique marketability. The aim of this workshop is to give the filmmaker ideas, experience and skills - in hands on creative and writing exercises, the presentation of models and examples, and group discussion of specific interests, to communicate with authenticity, articulateness and appeal.
Intrinsic Value evolved out of my work as a teacher of artists, designers, filmmakers, and others, (undergraduate and graduate students at Pratt Institute, NYU, Lincoln Center Institute, etc.). As an independent filmmaker, I have produced successful crowdsourcing campaigns, raised monies for theater, short and feature film projects, produced international projects, and received numerous grants, including from the Fulbright Foundation, the New York State Council on the Arts, the Mellon Fund, amongst many others." ~ Amy Guggenheim
The workshop will be followed by our regular networking circle from 8-9 pm where we'll introduce ourselves and share our asks and offers for the month. As always, sharing is encouraged but not required. Please also feel free to bring your dinner and/or communal snacks and drinks for the group!
