Description

Discover the beauty of India in NYC.

Lets #BeautyExplore little India in NYC. From visiting local shops, trying Indian snacks like Samosa and Naan, we'll deep dive into the culture by experiencing the spirit of India in the heart of NYC.

We meet at a local Indian restaurant where we will have snacks, and tea waiting for you. We'll then learn about the healing properties of turmeric and other key ingredients in the Ayurveda lifestyle. We start with a small intro to beauty about ingredients, the history of women and beauty rituals native to India. You'll also learn how to make eye kohl – a practice that dates back thousands of years. We focus on the application of a black liner by teaching the history and impact of this simple eye trend that has transcended the ideals of beauty. We then are off to #BeautyExplore the local shops where you'll discover spices, bindis, incense, and Ayurveda products, ext. You'll even be able to purchase your own kajal eye kit from the local shops we visit. We finish our tour by stopping by a women-operated beauty shop where we learn about henna and receive a small henna application.

Each walking beauty tour is three-hours, where we share in native beauty traditions that are inspired by Stephanie’s global travels and women who share their beauty around the world.

INCLUDES:

1 snack + 1 drink + Professional Henna Application

Can't wait to #ExploreBeauty with all of you! Namaste.

A little about your #BeauyGuide and why India.

While traveling in India I noticed women are more involved in inner beauty than outer beauty and hold strong cultural values in every part of their lives. Goddess Lakshmi is the goddess of prosperity, wealth, and the embodiment of beauty. Her big brown eyes, flushed cheeks, and defined brows are replicated all across India. Women apply kajal to their children’s brows and eyes to define their features to resemble the look of the gods on a daily basis. Wedding ceremonies are one of the most beautiful moments for a bride that takes part in culture-rooted traditions. The truth is India has a connection to the feminine power represented by the Devi’s (Goddesses) in the Hindu religion that showcases the natural beauty and untouched skin. Being able to share the beauty of this culture with the world in my hometown of NYC is a gift. What I found was that when I was missing India, I just needed to take a little bus ride downtown to feel the energy, the beauty and of this vibrant culture. Come share with me the history of this NYC gem, and learn about a new culture your maybe curious about, or want to travel too.
