Series Overview

The series draws from the ideas presented in the Action Planning and Implementation Guide developed by the NYC Peer and Community Health Worker Workforce Consortium. While developed in NYC, the information applies to organizations anywhere that are involved in the integration of a peer support workforce. The full series offers guidance on the transition from assessing organizational strengths and needs to collaboratively developing and implementing a measurable, action-oriented plan to address identified areas for improvement.

Session 3: Keeping the Action Active

This session presents strategies that can be used to address barriers related to engagement of employees and the sustainability of efforts over time. It discusses ways to re-evaluate and address needs that shift over time and will communication strategies to support sustained engagement.


Participants will be able to:

  1. Identify potential barriers in the active implementation of a plan .
  2. Understand and use strategies that can be used to address barriers .
  3. Recognize how to assess and improve levels of interest and engagement over time .
  4. Develop strategies for communication throughout the process of implementation .
