Description

Join us on June 25 for our monthly FIN AND TONIC on the future of Sustainable Finance! During this FIN AND TONIC, we will bring experienced practitioners with a global perspective to fuel a lively discussion on ESG metrics, green bonds and the future of Sustainable Finance.

Environmental, social and governance issues are now a major factor in investment. In fact, in the words of former NYC Mayor and billionaire philanthropist Michael Bloomberg, “capital markets are one of the most powerful tools in the fight against climate change”, and one which is often overlooked!

Sustainable finance refers to any form of financial service integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria into the business or investment decisions for the lasting benefit of both clients and society at large.

According to Leonie Schreve, ING's Global Head of Sustainable Finance, the appetite for green bonds and loans is growing across all sectors and types of companies. The demand, Schreve says, is coming from companies learning they can use this financing to achieve sustainable goals.*
