The labor movement has been at the heart of socialist politics for 150 years. This one-day educational event for NYC-DSA members will address important questions facing socialists today:

What is the history of the labor movement in the US?
What do unions do and how do they work?
What is the political role of socialists in the labor movement?
What are the challenges and opportunities facing the labor movement today?

Finally, we will consider the ways in which a new generation of socialist activists can contribute to rebuilding the labor movement in a moment of crisis and transition.
