Join us at the 38th annual Adult Basic Education Conference with workshops for both ABE and ESL educators!
There will be a variety of interactive workshops exploring best practices in ESOL and BE instruction, HSE /TASC, college prep, math, writing, ESL literacy, civics, classroom management, integrating technology, fostering critical thinking and other highly relevant topics by innovative and talented presenters, some of whom are NYSED trained lead teachers, from a cross-section of New York City adult education providers including CUNY, NYU, NYPL, QPL, the CBOs, the Literacy Assistance Center and the New York City Coalition for Adult Literacy.
There will be book publishers and, new this year, there will be table displays from organizations like the Legal Aid Society providing information for participants to share with their students.
The conference will conclude with a panel discussion of the current urgent issues facing the field: Mututal Support: Finding a Local Focus in this Uncertain Time.

The New York City Consortium for Adult Basic Education (ABE) Corporation is a non-profit association comprised of practicing educators and supporters of programs for educationally disadvantaged adults and youth in New York City. The focus of the annual ABE Conference is on sharing best practices for teaching ESOL, BE and HSE as well as assessing and responding to current challenges to our students, ourselves as practictioners and the field itself. This unique citywide professional development event provides a platform for its participants to learn, to share, to strengthen adult education and to support adult learners.
