Description

NY KIDS NEED HOUSING MARCH!
Thursday, June 7, 2018

Join Coalition for the Homeless and dozens of kids to call on Mayor de Blasio to build more housing for the record number of homeless New Yorkers – including the 23,000 children sleeping in shelters each night.

Kids will meet in Thomas Paine Park to build toy houses and draw pictures of houses. They will then march to City Hall to deliver their toy houses and drawings to Mayor de Blasio, asking: If we can make houses, why can’t you?

11:30 am-12:45 pm: Kids build toy houses and draw pictures of houses in Thomas Paine Park (Foley Square): Intersection of Centre St, Lafayette St, and Worth St in Lower Manhattan. Pizza, construction hats, building blocks, and art supplies will be provided.

12:45 pm-1 pm: Kids march along Centre St to City Hall

1 pm-1:30 pm: News conference on steps of City Hall, and kids deliver houses to the Mayor

Please register by May 31st so we know how much food and supplies to bring for the kids.
