NWTA Network presents: Meeting Students Where They Are
Event Information
Description
On June 19, the Northwest Teaching Artist (NWTA) Network is hosting an event for teaching artists of all disciplines. The goal is to provide a space for teaching artists to share and learn from peers, allowing us to connect and strengthen our professional community.
Who is a “teaching artist”?
· Active as both an artist and educator and/or mentor
· Teaches independently and/or for an arts or cultural organization
· Works as a visitor in an educational setting
The theme of the half-day event is Meeting Students Where They Are. After an opening talk by Creative Laureate Subashini Ganesan, participants will have the choice to attend one of two breakout sessions with local teaching artists. After the breakout, there will be time for comparing notes, general discussion, and networking time. Coffee will be provided.
This NWTA event precedes The Right Brain Initiative Summer Symposium (event info and registration here). Attendees of Meeting Students Where They Are receive 50% off registration for Symposium.
