Description

We at the National Wildlife Federation invite you to join us to celebrate “Monarchs, Gardens, and Networks,” a special gathering of NWF members, activists, supporters, partners, and friends, on the evening of Sunday, October 7, 2018.

Why you should attend:
First, because we value the generous support you have given the National Wildlife Federation.

Second, because you can help the migrating monarch butterfly, one of the most amazing parts of our national natural heritage.
North Texas lies at the heart of the monarch butterfly’s migration flyway between Mexico and Canada. You and other NWF supporters in and around Fort Worth can help save the monarchs by conserving or creating habitat for them -- right in your own yard.

NWF Naturalist David Mizejewski (frequently seen on TV on Good Morning America, Conan, Today, Wendy Williams, and Nat Geo Wild) will join us this evening. David will talk about the impact that every urban gardener can have on monarchs, pollinators, and other wildlife. We’ll also salute the visionaries who have helped lead Fort Worth and other cities in responding to the monarch crisis though NWF’s Mayors’ Monarch Pledge, from such groups as the Garden Clubs of America, the Native Plant Society of Texas, Texas Master Naturalists, and the Fort Worth Pollinator Ambassadors. In addition, we will highlight the synergistic effects of networking, through urban gardens, cities, counties, state, and federal efforts.

We hope you can be there! Please also invite your family members and friends and anyone you think might be interested. This free evening is co-sponsored by our host, the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT).There will be snacks and beverages, along with a chance to talk with other NWF members, outdoor enthusiasts, and friends -- and even share your own stories of gardening for wildlife.
