Description

Join us for the 2019 North West New Mexico Local Food Summit, hosted by the Farmington Local Food Taskforce on August 8 & 9 at the Farmington Civic Center.

The August 8 event will begin with a community update and planning session from 3-5pm in the Civic Center, followed by a fun filled local food fair in the Civic Center plaza. The first day event is free but we do ask that you RSVP for planning purposes. Participants of the community event will have an opportunity to learn about the regional progress of the local food system as well as share ideas about the next steps. The local food fair will be filled with informational booths of key players in the local food system movement, as well as area chefs participating in a food cook off challenge. The evening event will wrap up at 8pm with a drawing for farmers market bucks,

The August 9 event will begin with registration at 8am in the Civic Center and will conclude after lunch. The $10 event includes a light breakfast and lunch, both featuring local agricultural products. The agenda for the morning workshop will include a key note speaker as well as a community action planning session.

The final event of the Local Food Summit will be a Northwest New Mexico farm tour from 1-5pm. The farm tour fee is $25 and space is limited.

If you are a business or organization that supports local food, we have booths available at the Local Food Fair on Thursday August 8th from 5-8pm. Sign up here.
