About this event

Happy National Med Month!

Whether you are new to healthy eating or you are interested in diving in and renewing your progress, this series is for you! The Mediterranean eating pattern is backed by long-term scientific studies indicating this eating pattern reduces risk and helps to control chronic conditions such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancers, and more. This series will teach you how to make healthy choices, focus meals around fruits and vegetables, incorporate whole grains and lean proteins, while choosing healthy fats, herbs, and spices to make your foods both healthy and delicious!

In honor of National Med Month, we will be offering the series in a hybrid format for the first time ever! You have the option to join in-person at the Duplin County Cooperative Extension office OR virtually via Zoom platform. There are limited number of in-person tickets due to Covid-19 safety guidelines, so they will be first come first serve. Masks and social distancing are required for those joining in person. Taste tests will be available to take home for those who attend in-person.

When: This 6 week-program will be weekly on Tuesdays at 5:30pm, beginning May 11th and ending June 15th.

Where: Option to join virtually via Zoom, or join in-person in the Ed Emory Auditorium at 165 Agriculture Drive, Kenansville, NC. *If you are signing-up to attend in-person, please plan to come to all six meetings in person.

Cost: The program is FREE!
