Nurturing Curiosity: A Celebration of the Young Child
Sat, April 29, 2017, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM PDT
Join EBAEYC for this year's can't miss Week of the Young Child event.
Our keynote speaker, Shawn M. Bryant, will inspire us with his presentation on Culture, Teaching, Learning & the Early Childhood Brain in the 21st Century.
"Current brain research suggests that young learners are curious. When afforded opportunities to explore, investigate, question, manipulate and wonder their curiosity becomes deep intelligence. Despite the cognitive observation, most teachers struggle to blend the intricacies of culture, teaching, learning and the brain. Through personal stories and videos this 21st century presentation will explore the benefits of a curious mind through a curious teacher." - Shawn M. Bryant, founding director and chief learning officer with Teaching Excellence Center. http://www.teachingexcellencecenter.com/
Following the keynote, we will tour two innovative preschools.
Valley Montessori is a nationally recognized model of Montessori education. Its state-of-the-art campus, including an edible garden maintained by the children, is situated on a hill with a stunning view of the entire Tri-Valley.
