Description

The annual nursing program serves as a venue for HSS staff to disseminate evidence based practice and research projects currently underway. The theme this year is “Alternatives and Options.” Topics include: aroma therapy, CBD, hypnosis, and other trends in nursing practice. The program also builds knowledge of research and evidence based practice processes.

Accreditation and Credit Designation

HSS is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by New Jersey State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission On Accreditation. This activity has been submitted for approval to award contact hours.


Target Audience

This activity is targeted to registered nurses and nursing students.


Learning Objectives

HSS professional education activities are intended to improve the quality of patient care and safety. At the completion of the course, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe best practices and alternative care approaches related to various nursing issues

  • Identify evidence based practices and research process steps

Refund Policy

A handling fee of $20 is deducted for cancellation. Refund requests must be received by mail one week prior to the course. No refund will be made thereafter.
Hospital for Special Surgery reserves the right to cancel this course. In the unlikely event the course is cancelled, HSS will issue a full refund of the registration fee, but will not be responsible for any other charges incurred by the registrant due to the cancellation of the course.

Airport: LaGuardia (LGA) is 8 miles northeast of the city. Kennedy International (JFK) is 15 miles southeast of the city. Newark International (EWR) is 16 miles southwest of the city.

Subway: Nearest line is the Q train stop at East 72nd Street and Second Avenue or the 6 train at Lexington Avenue and 68th Street.
Car (FDR Drive): Driving south, exit at 71st Street. Driving north, exit at 63rd Street. Continue on York Avenue.
