About the Speakers

Sibyl Vinas Meza (Nurse Sibyl) - BSN, RN

Sibyl started her career as Med Surg Nurse in a top 3 hospital and transitioned to working in high-risk OB/GYN for 3 years. At the start pandemic after 5 total years at the bedside, Sibyl decided to try travel nursing and stumbled onto an online presence posting relatable #nursetok content. Her “laugh to keep from crying” videos have gained her over 150k followers on TikTok and 14k on Instagram.

When she’s not at the bedside or online you’ll find Sibyl traveling, spending time with her family and looking for the perfect ceviche & pisco sour. Today she continues to share her journey online as a novice travel nurse and is still cracking a few jokes along the way.

Alejandro Roldán (NP Alejandro) - MSN, APNP, FNP-C

Nurse practitioner• Clinical Nursing Professor • Mentor • Nursing consultant • APC council board member • DEI advocate • Business Owner • Nurse Leader and content creator

I am a Family practice nurse practitioner currently working with internal medicine at Advocate Aurora Health Care. My skills as a Nurse Practitioner and a nursing instructor allow me to be a vital member within my organization.

I have a passion for primary care and enjoy the complexity involved with the human body. I enjoy the vast variety from newborns to the elderly. I focus on prevention, along with diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic conditions. I developed an excellent ability to diagnose common illnesses. I do this by gathering the patient’s history, listening to their concerns and collaborating with the patient to come up with a treatment that will benefit their health. My nursing background allows me to have a holistic and integrative approach to the care for my patients.

Any kind of medical practice requires an entire team to be effective and successful to care for every patient.

I am active in the community, primarily with Spanish speaking patients. I am part of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN).

My other passion is teaching. I am an instructor at Marquette University and I teach undergraduate and graduate students in the nursing program.
