Nueva Math Circle is a joyful community event where guest mathematicians and math educators lead students from preK–10th grade in engaging math activities or investigations. Students also have the option to explore math games and puzzles in the I-Lab. For the upcoming Math Circle, we will have the following guest speakers:
- Stephanie Englehaupt, Nueva Math Specialist (Pre-K and 1st-2nd Grade sessions)
- Lora Saarnio, Nueva Math Specialist (3rd-4th Grade session)
- Zandra Vinegar, Mathematics Curriculum Director at Brilliant.org (5th-6th and 7th-8th Grade sessions)
- Alon Amit, Co-founder of Origami Logic (9th-10th Grade session)
This is a community outreach event that is open to the public. Please be advised that this is *not* a drop-off event for Lower School students. Parents are invited to join their child(ren) in the LS session. Pizza and snacks will be available for purchase. Online registration is preferable as every Math Circle was sold out last year. Check-in is in front of the library - please have your digital ticket barcode ready to be scanned; printed tickets are also accepted.
The next and last Nueva Math Circle for 2016-2017 will be on Friday, May 5th, 2017. Pre-registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nueva-math-circle-tickets-31812450897
