Event description

Description

The annual K-12 Science Conference in Southern Nevada will be held on 2/10/18. This event is open to K-12 teachers, community members, and those interested in science education.


Conference Presentation Strands are:

  • The Science Odyssey: Adventures in Science and Science Education
  • The Dawn of Man: Evolution and the NGSS
  • Lessons from the Monolith: Planning and Assessing 3-Dimensional Learning
  • Jupiter and Beyond: Exploring Earth & Space
  • Hal 9000: Technology in the classroom

Registration includes a year membership to Region 1 of the Nevada State Science Teachers Association and access to their online resources at www.nvscience.org.


Registration prices:

Early Bird (until 1/14) $40

Advance (1/15-2/9) $45

Day Of (2/10) $50


Keynote Speaker:

National Geographic Learning and Cengage are sponsoring National Geographic Explorer Andrés Ruzo, author of The Boiling River: Adventure and Discovery in the Amazon (TED Books). See his TED talk here.


Clark County School District teachers can earn 2 CUs for full conference attendance.
