Twenty (20) Interns from high schools and colleges have been participating in the National Science Foundation's Advanced Technological Education (NSF-ATE)program at the BCC Geospatial Center of the CUNY CREST Institute and York College of the City University of New York. They were mentored over a period of 10 weeks (college participants) and 6 weeks (high school participants) in focused research projects. They used geospatial BIG data and a wide range of geo-analytics tools to complete their respective projects that focused on geospatial technology and its applications for STEM. They will show case their research projects at this conference.

The conference will benefit academics and students who are interested to learn more about geospatial technology particularly BIG data applications for STEM areas of study. NSF and College andministrators, mentors and mentees will get a first hand account of a successful summer work force resarch program with the industry
