Description

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is a course conducted in the classroom and at the range.

Students will receive The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Textbook along with other training materials.

A NRA certificate will be issued to the student at successful completion of the class.

This is the traditional NRA instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end.

Intended for all regardless of previous shooting experience. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a NRA Basics Of Pistol Shooting certificate.

The goal is to teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.

Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. At the range you will learn range protocol; proper gun handling, loading and unloading procedures and application of pistol shooting fundamentals.

Students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor.

What to Bring: Your Pistol & Manual, 200 Rounds of Factory New Ammunition *No Reloads or Steel Core* A highighter, Pen, Pencil, and paper for note taking. Sack Lunch / Snacks / Something to drink (There is not enough time to leave and go get lunch)

We provide Electronic Hearing Protection & Eye Protection for all of our students while on the Range, or you may bring your own. Electronic hearing protection amplifies voices and sounds around you so they can be heard. When shots are fired, the electronic circuitry shuts out the gunfire. The ability to clearly hear your instuctor, hear the range commands and those around you helps ensure safety and gives the student a better learning experience

Please leave your firearm and ammunition secured in your locked vehicle until instructed to retreive them. NO AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM.

How to Dress: For your safety on the range closed toe shoes and a crew neck tee shirt are required. No scoop necks or tank tops are allowed. *No exceptions will be made*.
