Event description

Description

This course examines key strategies for effectively teaching writing at word, sentence and text level. Taking reading as a starting point, delegates will explore 'reading as a writer' strategies to help children understand how and why writers write.

Through the use of contemporary children's literature, delegates will participate in a range of teaching techniques for improving the quality and range of children's vocabulary and creative approaches to developing the accuracy and variety of children's sentences. This course also explores key text level strategies such as 'story graphing' and 'exploded planning' to encourage children to build well-structured texts, and creative and fun ideas to inspire children's writing and engaging them in the writing process.

This course is part of the NQT training package as previously outlined. Courses will be invoiced after the event.
