Description
The National Park Service is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2016. Join us for appetizers, wine and wildlife as we celebrate the Centennial with wildlife biologist Joe Wasilewski and former NPS Director Fran Mainella, the first female director of the National Park Service. Learn more about South Florida's national parks, meet the rangers who protect and preserve these special places including Big Cypress Superintendent Tammy Whittington, and talk to one of South Florida's best known wildlife biologists about his adventures with alligators, crocodiles and pythons. Joe Wasilewski is known for his work with reptiles and his knack for catching pythons in the Everglades. He joins us for this special Centennial event with two of South Florida’s top predators - an American alligator and a Burmese python. Tickets are $50 per person or $100 for a special Centennial package ($100 for 100 years) that includes a national park gift, a photo opportunity of your choice and membership in the SFNPT. Special thanks to Guest Services and DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Naples for supporting this event and the NPS Centennial, and to our hosts for the evening, Porter Wright.
