It's the most wonderful time of the year – the launch of the Nonprofit Excellence Awards!

The application opens on March 11th, and we encourage ALL nonprofits around the NYC, Long Island and Westchester area to apply. Why? THREE reasons:

(1) CELEBRATING: You are amazing, and we want to uplift your promising practices in nonprofit management. When else are you going to get celebrated for your beautiful budgeting process? Who else is going to uplift your leadership pipeline that is not just diverse, but inclusive AND equitable? We are. We know that nonprofits do amazing work every day, and it requires well-oiled management to ensure that we continue to change the world.

(2) LEARNING: Throughout this application process, you will gain insights about your strengths and areas for growth through a 360-degree assessment of your management practices, plus feedback from the knowledgeable team of experts who review each application - the Selection Committee. You will also learn from each other – through the Best Nonprofit Conference, and (if you are a finalist) through scholarships to Columbia Business School’s leadership program for nonprofit professionals.

(3) STRENGTHENING: At the end of the day, our goals are that you’ve learned, you’ve celebrated, and that you are now a little stronger, more resilient than you were before you started. We believe that by teaching and promoting excellent management practices, we can strengthen nonprofits. By participating in this application, you will be building the internal capacity of your nonprofit so you can better achieve your mission. Roughly, 3 out of 4 applicant organizations reported identifying a management strength or weakness and making a change.
